BigTape aims to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA, so you can use it with a keyboard, a screen reader, zoom or reduced motion. If anything gets in your way, tell us, and we will work on a fix and help you get the same information another way.
Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.
Testing before launch covers every page with a keyboard alone, with screen readers on desktop and phone, at 200% zoom, on narrow phone screens, with reduced motion turned on, and in light and dark themes. The results, and any known problems with their planned fixes, are published on this page before launch.
Keyboard. Every control can be reached and used with a keyboard. On the chart, arrow keys move from one mark to the next, and a “Prints in view” table lists the same prints as text.
Visible focus. Whatever has keyboard focus always shows a clear outline.
Reduced motion. If your device asks for reduced motion, BigTape replaces animation with still cues. A new print, for example, shows a static “New” tag for 10 seconds in place of an animated ring.
Sound and vibration. Both are optional, and you can turn them off in Settings.
Color. Color is never the only way BigTape shows meaning. Exchange prints are solid discs and Dark prints are hollow rings, so shape carries the venue as well as color. Top 10 marks carry their rank as a number, and the #1 Print is the biggest mark with a 1. Each data state uses an icon and words. A Level Break shows as a gap in the level line.
Text. Text in chart labels is at least 13 pixels, and pages can be zoomed to 200% without losing content.
If something in BigTape is hard or impossible for you to use, tell us through the Contact page. Include the page, what you were trying to do, and your device, browser and any assistive technology you use. We reply within five business days. If a fix will take time, we help you get the same information another way.
